2016–17 Tottenham Hotspur F.C. season

The 2016–17 season was Tottenham Hotspur's 25th season in the Premier League and 39th successive season in the top division of the English football league system. Along with the Premier League, the club competed in the FA Cup, League Cup and the Champions League. Upon finishing 3rd in the group stage of the Champions League they then qualified and entered into knock-out stage of the Europa League. They played their home domestic fixtures at White Hart Lane and their home European fixtures at Wembley Stadium. The season covers the period from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017. It was the club's final season at White Hart Lane before it was demolished to make way for the new stadium. Tottenham went the season unbeaten at their old stadium in all competitions: it was the first time they had been unbeaten at home in a league campaign since the 1964–65 season. In winning their final fourteen home league matches, they equalled the club record set over the final nine games of 1986–87 and the first five of 1987–88.

2019–20 Tottenham Hotspur F.C. season

The 2019–20 season was Tottenham Hotspur's 28th season in the Premier League and 42nd successive season in the top division of the English football league system. Along with the Premier League, the club did in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. The club also competed in the UEFA Champions League after finishing fourth last season. The season started poorly for Tottenham, with only three of their first 12 league games won as well as being knocked out of the EFL Cup by Colchester United. This resulted in Mauricio Pochettino being sacked on 19 November 2019, to be replaced by José Mourinho the following day. In the FA Cup Tottenham twice were taken to a replay and in the fifth round were drawn at home to Norwich City. The game went into extra time and with the result ending in 1–1, it came down to penalties. Norwich won the game 3–2 after the shootout. With the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic, Premier League football matches were postponed in March, including Tottenham's games against Manchester United and West Ham. A further joint statement from the Premier League and UEFA extended postponement until 30 April.

Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to as Tottenham () or Spurs, is a professional football club based in Tottenham, London, England. It competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. The team has played its home matches in the 62,850-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since April 2019, replacing their former home of White Hart Lane, which had been demolished to make way for the new stadium on the same site. Founded in 1882, Tottenham's emblem is a cockerel standing upon a football, with the Latin motto Audere est Facere ("to dare is to do"). The club has traditionally worn white shirts and navy blue shorts home kit since the 1898–99 season. Their training ground is on Hotspur Way in Bulls Cross in the London Borough of Enfield. After its inception, Tottenham won the FA Cup for the first time in 1901, the only non-League club to do so since the formation of the Football League in 1888. Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960–61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup. They were also the inaugural winners of the UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies.

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Under-23s and Academy

The Tottenham Hotspur Academy is the youth system of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. The academy was created to train and develop players from the age of eight all the way through to the age of 23. Many of those who have progressed through Tottenham's academy have gone on to sign professional contracts and several have represented their country at full international level. The reserves in recent times have been known as the Development Squad to reflect the purpose of producing players for the first team. Though matches are billed as under 21, three overage players are allowed which gives the club the opportunity to give senior squad players a chance to play and keep or build up match fitness, often following an injury. They have won one Premier Reserve League South title since the league's formation in 1999 and were runners-up in the inaugural Barclays U21 Premiership League which took over from 2012.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the home of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in north London, replacing the club's previous ground, White Hart Lane. With a seating capacity of 62,850, it is the third-largest football stadium in England and the largest club ground in London. It is designed to be a multi-purpose stadium and features the world's first dividing, retractable football pitch, which reveals a synthetic turf field underneath for NFL London Games, concerts and other events. The construction of the stadium was initiated as the centrepiece of the Northumberland Development Project, intended to be the catalyst for a 20-year regeneration plan for Tottenham. The project covers the site of the now demolished ground White Hart Lane and areas adjacent to it. It was conceived in 2007 and announced in 2008, but revised several times, and construction of the stadium, beset by disputes and delays, did not commence until 2015. The stadium opened on 3 April 2019 with a ceremony before the first Premier League game held there. The name "Tottenham Hotspur Stadium" was meant to be temporary, the intention being to sell the naming rights to a sponsor, but it has still not been renamed. The stadium is occasionally referred to as New White Hart Lane by fans and some in the media.
