Catherine Dior

Ginette Dior (2 August 1917 – 17 June 2008), better known as Catherine Dior, was a French resistance fighter during World War II. Involved with the Franco-Polish intelligence unit F2 from November 1941, she was arrested in Paris in July 1944 by the Gestapo, then tortured and deported to the Ravensbrück women concentration camp. Dior was subsequently forced to work in the Torgau military prison, in the Buchenwald's satellite camp of Abberode, and finally in a factory near Leipzig. After her release in April 1945, she was awarded several medals of honour for her acts in the Resistance, most notably the Croix de Guerre, the King's Medal for Courage in the Cause of Freedom, and the Legion of Honour. After the end of the war, Dior spent the remainder of her life working with flowers: first as a flower trader in Paris, then as a flower farmer in Provence for the production of fragrance. She was close to her brother, the well-known couturier Christian Dior. Launched in 1947, the perfume Miss Dior is often said to have been named after her by Christian. Catherine Dior helped preserve her brother's legacy after his death in 1957, and she became the honorary president of the Christian-Dior Museum from 1999 until her death in 2008, aged 90.

Dior (song)

"Dior" is a song by American rapper Pop Smoke released by Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records on February 11, 2020, as the third and final single from his debut mixtape Meet the Woo (2019). A drill and hip hop song, it was written by Pop Smoke and its producer 808Melo. "Dior" was included as a bonus track on Pop Smoke's second mixtape Meet the Woo 2, along with a remix featuring American rapper Gunna. The original version appeared again on Pop Smoke's posthumous debut studio album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon (2020) as a bonus track, then finally once more on the deluxe edition of its followup Faith (2021). In the song's lyrics, Pop Smoke raps about flirting with women and buying the latest designer clothes. "Dior" received widespread critical acclaim from critics, many of whom deemed it a New York anthem and his signature song. The song was nominated for Best Rap Performance at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Shortly after Pop Smoke's death on February 19, 2020, the single peaked at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 33 on the UK Singles Chart. "Dior" peaked in the top 60 of record charts in ten other countries, including Greece, where it peaked at number six. Dior Homme

Dior Homme is the menswear division of Christian Dior SA, the French clothing retailer. Dior Men has been under the creative direction of Kim Jones since spring/summer 2019. It had been directed by Hedi Slimane since the fall/winter 2001-02 season. Under Hedi Slimane's direction, Dior Men has introduced a characteristic slim silhouette which has since taken off within the fashion industry. The early collections delved into the exploration of the male sex. The look darkened during the Luster period which was inspired by the electroscene of Berlin. Since 2004 A/W, Dior Men has delved into exploring the different styles of Rock and Roll. The logo currently used by Dior Men is a bee, usually in the bottom right-hand side of knitwear and the top right side in polo shirts. Since 2007 and the departure of Hedi Slimane, Kris Van Assche implements a more formal and minimal style. Over the seasons, he softens the black stiff silhouette which had become too cliché and opt for models who add an athletic look to the spindly Dior Men silhouette.
